Avid drummers take their drum heads seriously, seeing as they have a large impact on the sound of their kit and playing experience. Remo is a top-quality brand and their PR-1424-00 Powerstroke Pro is another example of their good reputation. This 24-inch bass drum batter head is finished in Ebony, dark in colour, but also dark in sound as opposed to a clear head.

Remo PR-1424-00 24-inch Powerstroke Pro

Where the Powerstroke Pro excels is sound control. With an average bass drum, you may have difficulty adding the right amount of attenuation to prevent unwanted resonance and overtones, but with the PR-1424-00, that's not an issue. It has a Pressure Dampening Profile - an edge that is positioned on the head with laser precision - which effectively stops resonance. With the help of acoustic foam between the dampening edge and the head, you get a pure sound, free of ripples or resonance. In other words, you can leave that old coat or sleeping bag at home from now on. Remo's PR-1424-00 Powerstroke Pro delivers a professional punch!
