Vater VH5AW American Hickory Los Angeles 5A Drumsticks. Hickory is a dense, heavier wood ideal for drumsticks as it absorbs a great deal of shock, reducing hand and wrist fatigue. The Los Angeles 5A’s are well balanced sticks, heavier toward the tip for a fast attack and response.
